Remove your CO₂ footprint
Looking to eliminate your carbon footprint as an individual or small business? Our high-quality carbon removal portfolios empower you to take meaningful action and create lasting impact.
Calculate your CO₂ emissions
Emissions depend on your lifestyle and generally rise with income. Use our carbon footprint calculator (jointly developed with Doconomy and the UNFCCC) to estimate your carbon footprint. On average, the annual carbon footprint of a person in Europe is around 7t per year, 15t in the U.S. – the world’s average lies at 4.7t per year.

FAQs
How do I know this is actually removing carbon from the atmosphere?
We only offer high-quality, verified carbon removal. Climeworks own direct air capture is measurable, all grey emissions from constructions and plant operations are deducted from the captured CO₂ that is stored underground permanently and certified by like Puro.earth. All portfolio projects are vetted by us and independently certified by Puro.earth or Isometric—so your impact is real, not just promised.
When will you remove and how long will the carbon stay removed (permanence)?
We will remove your carbon throughout the next 7 years in batches depending on the solution portfolio you picked and the availibility of the individual credits. Permanence depends on the method. Nature-based solutions like Afforestation store carbon for decades. Enhanced Weathering and BECCS offer greater durability—storing carbon for hundreds to thousands of years. Engineered methods like DAC+storage are the most permanent, locking CO₂ away underground for over 1,000 years. Each portfolio offers a different mix to suit your goals and budget.
Will I get a certificate?
When you make a purchase, you’ll receive an order confirmation, and can track the details of your order in our online dashboard. Carbon removal is delivered within 7 years following the year of purchase. Once completed, you'll receive a delivery note with all relevant details, including supplier information.
Can I deduct my carbon removal purchase from tax?
Direct purchase of Climeworks’ Carbon Dioxide Removal services isn’t tax-deductible because Climeworks provides a service in return for payment and is not a charitable organization. However, U.S. taxpayers can donate to Terraset, a 501c3 nonprofit, to make a tax-deductible donation here. More information on Terraset and the partnership with Climeworks can be found here.
